Well, the first month of 2007 has come to a quick end.
S hasn't been really well this week and ended up in hospital with pnemonia. We've brought him home because its not too bad at this point.
B has strep throat and not much of a voice.
Baby I spent the night with her big brother in Children's Hospital and is exhausted and has croup.
So all in all I think we are quarantined!!
S being pushed around GM place with Willie Mitchell from the canucksB went from hockey practise to GM place to skate with some of the Canucks. It sure is nice ice
Baby I spent some time with Fin!!

Well another weekend has flown by.
B had a hockey and a soccer game saturday morning, winning is not important but wow he did well. you see, he is goalie for hockey and though winning isn't the important thing, there is a lot of pressure. It was almost a shut-out, would have been his first but 1 goal slipped, 8-1 for the bulldogs!!! He felt so good about himself after the game, he sure worked hard and had A LOT of saves, Way to go B.
He went straight to the soccer field and his team did very well and worked hard together. we were on the south field which was totally frozen but no injuries and a happy team - A good day for B, he sure felt good about himself!
Baby I has a cold so she is fine in the day, but trouble sleeping at night, we sure are not used to her waking in the night!

January is flying by...

Stel and B are both another year older

S had a tough week but seems to be coming back around. He doesn't typically get sick, of all of us he always seems to be the healthy one, but when he does it sure hits him hard, so we are relieved he is feeling better - now if we could just convince him to eat!

Baby I is a busy little one. We are thinking she is beating B in terms of what she gets into!! We thought he was a climber but I think shes got him beat.

Suzanne, this picture is dedicated to you........
Life has been busy, almost seems calming to have the holiday's over. School's back in and routine has begun again. Thanks baby I for the wake up this morning. She has become very busy, climbing on everything and getting stuck in the most difficult places! She has this high pitched short scream/squeal that she seems to be doing all the time, for attention, when she is stuck, when she wants something, well lets just say all the time!! The last wind storm a couple days back brought down our neighbours tree, we were all very lucky, no one was hurt and amazingly no damage. It just missed a vehicle, and the wires, but besides blocking the road no major damage

Baby I is enjoying her kitchen.

She was worried about standing against it, she usually leans forward onto it but B got her to forget she was worried. B can always make her smile!!!

She loves the food sent to her by her cousins in Japan. We had put it away and just remembered it so it goes perfectly with her new kitchen

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. We have had a good 2nd half of 2006 and hope it continues for 2007

Christmas Day

We had a great day, busy day, but great day!!!!

Christmas morning began with me actually waking up first, odd for sure, and shortly after B came tip-toeing into the living room. He then woke dad and baby I was standing in her crib, B then so nicely woke S and they sat with him in bed for a little then we all headed to see what was under the tree.

B such an awsome kid helped S and Baby I open their gifts as well as opened his. Everyone seemed very happy!!

S got the Wii and had lots of fun today playing with dad!!

We put the turkey in mid morning and began everything else for our dinner. Early afternoon was busy getting dinner prepared. Everything turned out great except the stuffing was kinda gross but hey thats why there is a garbage bin, right! My parents were over for the afternoon and evening and we had fun playing games after dinner.

The kids have gone to bed happy today for sure

I found this on another site and thought i'd add it here
Giving thanks for a special needs child

1) You never have to worry about worrying over nothing.
Let other parents obsess over the frivolous and the shallow. Your child will make sure you always have something worthy to worry about.

2) Developmental delays = more years of hugs, kisses, and little-kid sweetness.
My 13-year-old still wants to sit in my lap, give me hugs, and tell me he loves me. What mom of a sullen teen doesn't secretly wish for the same?

3) Any little milestone is a cause to throw a party.
Your child works hard for every step, sit-up and syllable, giving you lots to be excited about.

4) Every day is a learning experience.
Some days it's a pop quiz, some days it's a crash course, but life with your child is always an education, for sure.

5) You have the privilege of putting several doctors' children through college.
After paying for all those appointments, you may feel like a one-family scholarship foundation. Put your child's name on some letterhead and take pride.

6) You have an iron-clad escape excuse for any occasion.
You'd love to stay at that boring party, crowded event, endless church service, but, you know, your child just can't tolerate it. (And if sometimes it's you who can't tolerate it -- who's to know?)

7) Coming up with new strategies every day keeps your brain sharp.
They say doing crossword puzzles helps ward off Alzheimer's. Figuring out your child's schedules and treatments and lessons and rights and restrictions must easily provide twice the protection.

8) Your blessings will always be fully counted.
Other parents may take the gifts that their children bring for granted. Not you. Not ever.

The Big Christmas Dress!!!

Saturday, December 16, 2006

Ahhh Christmas can now come....

I am a happy momma. I was feeling very desperate, all I wanted for S for Christmas was Ninteno Wii and were there any to be found?

NOOOOO.

Best Buy was selling 22 Friday morning, I got there at 9:30pm Thursday night and I was special number 9 in line - got my chair, my umbrella and my blanket and got comfy. My awsome friend, Suzanne came a while later, she was just going to keep me company for a while, but I think the intrigue got to her. we did some re-arranging - at 10:47 pm she headed to my house, picked up Stel and the sleeping kids, came back to best buy picked up her van then they drove to her home dropped off her van and stel brought her back to best buy and he went home to put the kids back to bed. All this so her hubby could bring her kids in the morning on his way to work so she could also get a Wii and keep me company!! By midnight there were more than 22 people in line so that was all the Wii's though more still waited. Well after a couple hours and some interesting conversation with others in a tent with insane rain outside and actually inside a bit too I was really re-thinking the fact that Stel took the van home - we started the evening with 2 and now had none. A cab ride home and the van was back with us and the 125km/h winds. We enjoyed watching the tent we had been in actually finally flattened to the ground because of wind. Where would the drama be if it was a beautiful warm sunny night instead of the worst windstorm BC hydro workers had ever seen!!! We hadn't been in the van 1/2 hour when we were out helping the tent guys and then stayed out as even more people were showing up and couldn't lose our spot after all this. The winds died down a bit around 5 and it was getting awfully cold for us but around 8 we got our paper and our guarentee that we both had one so we went to starbucks for a washroom, hot drink and headed back to warm up and dry off a bit in the van. 9:08 am finished paying and I felt good.
S is such an amazing kid and he fights so hard with all he goes thru - I will do anything for him

Thank you Suzanne, what should we do next .......

Just had to tell about how proud I am of B

Oh my, a second post on one weekend!! thats big for me, but I am no where near catching up to you R!!
First i will catch up the day till we get to my proud mom moment.

Today we were in the house, it was stormy out, I love the wind - not the rain so much but after our waffles for a late breakfast we decided to go to the Santa Cause Parade in Downtown Vancouver. Yes we are insane but because of the rain figured no many would go - haha we are soo stupid!! It was sunny in vancouver and there were people everywhere. We got a good spot and waited, we were stuck - there was no getting out during this slowwwwww parade, maybe next year we will stay home! the beginning of the parade is the food/toy bank train so B went to run the toys and diapers into the bins but they were moving so they kept falling out it was really funny, he kept trying to throw stuff in and they'd keep falling out so the volunteers tried throwing the diapers in and they hit the side and fell out again - we almost brought them back home but B got it all in!! S enjoyed the school bands, Baby I clapped and waved at everyone and B kept asking if it was over yet.

After the parade we had to stop and feed the kids, as we went to a spot to do this we passed a very very sad crying homeless gentleman on the ground crying asking why no one would help him. There were so many people pushing/shoving there way by but B must have been thinking a lot of this man. The kids had their late lunch and B asked for the cookies we packed for snack (we made them yesterday with my new kitchen toy) and B took one and asked if the man could have the other so he ran the baggie over to him. He wasn't in the same spot the police had had him move along but a shy B talked to the man and they both ate the cookie and though the circumstances suck my heart is so very proud of my B
Baby I used her Califonia stroller today so we believe thats why the sun came out - that strollers never seen rain yet!

Oh my what a day... Up at 6am, all of us off to hockey at 7:15 team pictures and then the game. B was goalie so he was very happy and his team did awsome. Good game. We had time to run home, cut up oranges change into soccer gear and off to the game we headed. B was very much looking forwaed to playing this team, they played well and yes B was goalie for the second half. He did very well in goal and though they lost by one goal he did awsome keeping it close and letting none in during his time in goal. Our day was pretty much done and it wasn't even lunch time!!! S and Baby I were great and though they were probably bored and cold they seemed happy - eating crackers also helped!

Christmas is fast approaching and I am excited this year. Its been a few years since I was looking forward to the holidays. Last year was tough on us all, Sebastian was in hospital and were sure didn't think he would make it through the holidays. First on the 23rd of december his pnemonia was so bad we didn't think he would make it through the night but he is such a fighter!! then on the 26th his heart stopped - that was the longes under a minute of my life. Right now he is ding well but not as well as a few months ago, his hip is not healing and looking like he'll be heading back to the operating room in the future. I am so sorry he has to go through more but believe he will fight through it.

Lastly I had to add another picture of the places Baby I has been...
