Baby I is enjoying her kitchen.

She was worried about standing against it, she usually leans forward onto it but B got her to forget she was worried. B can always make her smile!!!

She loves the food sent to her by her cousins in Japan. We had put it away and just remembered it so it goes perfectly with her new kitchen

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. We have had a good 2nd half of 2006 and hope it continues for 2007

Christmas Day

We had a great day, busy day, but great day!!!!

Christmas morning began with me actually waking up first, odd for sure, and shortly after B came tip-toeing into the living room. He then woke dad and baby I was standing in her crib, B then so nicely woke S and they sat with him in bed for a little then we all headed to see what was under the tree.

B such an awsome kid helped S and Baby I open their gifts as well as opened his. Everyone seemed very happy!!

S got the Wii and had lots of fun today playing with dad!!

We put the turkey in mid morning and began everything else for our dinner. Early afternoon was busy getting dinner prepared. Everything turned out great except the stuffing was kinda gross but hey thats why there is a garbage bin, right! My parents were over for the afternoon and evening and we had fun playing games after dinner.

The kids have gone to bed happy today for sure

I found this on another site and thought i'd add it here
Giving thanks for a special needs child

1) You never have to worry about worrying over nothing.
Let other parents obsess over the frivolous and the shallow. Your child will make sure you always have something worthy to worry about.

2) Developmental delays = more years of hugs, kisses, and little-kid sweetness.
My 13-year-old still wants to sit in my lap, give me hugs, and tell me he loves me. What mom of a sullen teen doesn't secretly wish for the same?

3) Any little milestone is a cause to throw a party.
Your child works hard for every step, sit-up and syllable, giving you lots to be excited about.

4) Every day is a learning experience.
Some days it's a pop quiz, some days it's a crash course, but life with your child is always an education, for sure.

5) You have the privilege of putting several doctors' children through college.
After paying for all those appointments, you may feel like a one-family scholarship foundation. Put your child's name on some letterhead and take pride.

6) You have an iron-clad escape excuse for any occasion.
You'd love to stay at that boring party, crowded event, endless church service, but, you know, your child just can't tolerate it. (And if sometimes it's you who can't tolerate it -- who's to know?)

7) Coming up with new strategies every day keeps your brain sharp.
They say doing crossword puzzles helps ward off Alzheimer's. Figuring out your child's schedules and treatments and lessons and rights and restrictions must easily provide twice the protection.

8) Your blessings will always be fully counted.
Other parents may take the gifts that their children bring for granted. Not you. Not ever.

The Big Christmas Dress!!!

Saturday, December 16, 2006

Ahhh Christmas can now come....

I am a happy momma. I was feeling very desperate, all I wanted for S for Christmas was Ninteno Wii and were there any to be found?

NOOOOO.

Best Buy was selling 22 Friday morning, I got there at 9:30pm Thursday night and I was special number 9 in line - got my chair, my umbrella and my blanket and got comfy. My awsome friend, Suzanne came a while later, she was just going to keep me company for a while, but I think the intrigue got to her. we did some re-arranging - at 10:47 pm she headed to my house, picked up Stel and the sleeping kids, came back to best buy picked up her van then they drove to her home dropped off her van and stel brought her back to best buy and he went home to put the kids back to bed. All this so her hubby could bring her kids in the morning on his way to work so she could also get a Wii and keep me company!! By midnight there were more than 22 people in line so that was all the Wii's though more still waited. Well after a couple hours and some interesting conversation with others in a tent with insane rain outside and actually inside a bit too I was really re-thinking the fact that Stel took the van home - we started the evening with 2 and now had none. A cab ride home and the van was back with us and the 125km/h winds. We enjoyed watching the tent we had been in actually finally flattened to the ground because of wind. Where would the drama be if it was a beautiful warm sunny night instead of the worst windstorm BC hydro workers had ever seen!!! We hadn't been in the van 1/2 hour when we were out helping the tent guys and then stayed out as even more people were showing up and couldn't lose our spot after all this. The winds died down a bit around 5 and it was getting awfully cold for us but around 8 we got our paper and our guarentee that we both had one so we went to starbucks for a washroom, hot drink and headed back to warm up and dry off a bit in the van. 9:08 am finished paying and I felt good.
S is such an amazing kid and he fights so hard with all he goes thru - I will do anything for him

Thank you Suzanne, what should we do next .......

Just had to tell about how proud I am of B

Oh my, a second post on one weekend!! thats big for me, but I am no where near catching up to you R!!
First i will catch up the day till we get to my proud mom moment.

Today we were in the house, it was stormy out, I love the wind - not the rain so much but after our waffles for a late breakfast we decided to go to the Santa Cause Parade in Downtown Vancouver. Yes we are insane but because of the rain figured no many would go - haha we are soo stupid!! It was sunny in vancouver and there were people everywhere. We got a good spot and waited, we were stuck - there was no getting out during this slowwwwww parade, maybe next year we will stay home! the beginning of the parade is the food/toy bank train so B went to run the toys and diapers into the bins but they were moving so they kept falling out it was really funny, he kept trying to throw stuff in and they'd keep falling out so the volunteers tried throwing the diapers in and they hit the side and fell out again - we almost brought them back home but B got it all in!! S enjoyed the school bands, Baby I clapped and waved at everyone and B kept asking if it was over yet.

After the parade we had to stop and feed the kids, as we went to a spot to do this we passed a very very sad crying homeless gentleman on the ground crying asking why no one would help him. There were so many people pushing/shoving there way by but B must have been thinking a lot of this man. The kids had their late lunch and B asked for the cookies we packed for snack (we made them yesterday with my new kitchen toy) and B took one and asked if the man could have the other so he ran the baggie over to him. He wasn't in the same spot the police had had him move along but a shy B talked to the man and they both ate the cookie and though the circumstances suck my heart is so very proud of my B
Baby I used her Califonia stroller today so we believe thats why the sun came out - that strollers never seen rain yet!

Oh my what a day... Up at 6am, all of us off to hockey at 7:15 team pictures and then the game. B was goalie so he was very happy and his team did awsome. Good game. We had time to run home, cut up oranges change into soccer gear and off to the game we headed. B was very much looking forwaed to playing this team, they played well and yes B was goalie for the second half. He did very well in goal and though they lost by one goal he did awsome keeping it close and letting none in during his time in goal. Our day was pretty much done and it wasn't even lunch time!!! S and Baby I were great and though they were probably bored and cold they seemed happy - eating crackers also helped!

Christmas is fast approaching and I am excited this year. Its been a few years since I was looking forward to the holidays. Last year was tough on us all, Sebastian was in hospital and were sure didn't think he would make it through the holidays. First on the 23rd of december his pnemonia was so bad we didn't think he would make it through the night but he is such a fighter!! then on the 26th his heart stopped - that was the longes under a minute of my life. Right now he is ding well but not as well as a few months ago, his hip is not healing and looking like he'll be heading back to the operating room in the future. I am so sorry he has to go through more but believe he will fight through it.

Lastly I had to add another picture of the places Baby I has been...

Halloween Night....
We were out trick'r'treating tonight, oh what fun. Darth vader and tinker-bell were out wandering the streets, S was home sleeping and realxing.
Yesterday we went out to west vancouver to a ambulance drivers house. This man careved 455 pumpkins, took him 70 plus hours and he decorated his house up the trees on the roof everywhere along with awsome decorations this place is amazing. It is open the 30th and 31st and all donations go to charity we are going back next year, it was so busy people came from all over.

A year tomorrow

Wow, well we had fun with friends and a great dinner, but today is the last day Baby I will ever be zero again! I am very sad, she is growing up so fast and is much fun to be with but this part of our life is now over.
Here is the last picture of baby I at zero!!

She is doing quite well right now, she is still pulling herself around with her toes and arms and has learned to sit up. She is so happy and very much in love with her big brothers.

Time just seems to be flying by...

We had a good week and friday night decided to take the kids to the haloween train in Bear Creek Park. B has gone on almost every year and wanted to this year until we got there, then he was a bit hesitant but went on.
It was good but we had way more fun at the playground after!!!

Ok so it scared a little girl, and Baby I hates it but I love this hat!!!

S and his peaceful hands

Its been a busy fun exhausting week.

The kids and I headed up to Squamish last week for Canuck Place Hospices Kid camp.

-

B loves going and this year was no different he had the time of his life. B has so much fun with Will here and also with his buddy Rob but Baby I is too busy having fun with Rob. She showed him how she gets around a room then he showed her how he can - man was his shirt soo gross after that.

S had fun this year, last year he ended up in hospital with pnemonia so this year was great. <
S had a lizard on his shoulder. Mike the Critter guy came up and brought a whole bunch of things, snaked, bird, and incredibly soft chinchilla and many more.

Baby I had fun, she had constant attention and was in need of nothing at all.

They all loved the pool and constant activities, but the food was horrid!! They enjoyed the ice cream eating competition, B came in second place. They made Mr.Potatoe heads with real potatoes and they turned out great. we went walking along the riverside and saw a seal in the river, there were bunnies all over the camp and a few people saw a bear friday night. The staff and volunteers did an awsome job with planning and being fun for the kids.

Stel headed up fridaay night and saturday morning we headed to Whistler, I love whistler and all the activity.

We can't wait for snow - and a weekend trip to whistler with friends-hint hint double double...

Only a few more days and Baby I will be the 1. Where has the year gone. I'm feeling sad that our baby is growing up so fast. She is getting so speedy with her comando crawling and getting into trouble. Today she headed outside B left his room door open and she went out to visit dad in the backyard.

In addition to yesterdays post.....

We decided to head out to the bird sanctuary since we didn't have time yesterday.

It is so nice out there,
so peaceful, ok well maybe not peaceful when the ducks are trying to get your bag of food!!

It is such a nice area and walk,
you can just put some seed on you hand and the little chickadees will land and get some food.
If you look close there is a little chickadee on my hand.

We then headed to the big Richmond pumpkin patch to get our fresh vegetables and check out the music.
They have musicians and S seemed to finally be happy. Since coming home from California he just didn't seem happy but yesterday he finally seemed Happy and smiley.
I sure hope we've got our happy guy back.

B had fun having hay fights with some boys in the hay and being burried in the hay!!!

Baby I and S both enjoyed the guys in the band.

Baby I has become a very busy girl. She commando pulls herself through the house and she has found her favorite places to be the bathroom and the garbage can!! I think it is now time to baby-gate the house!! Oh my she gets into everything!!

Well I am off to have a re-match with B from our game Saturday night!!

Sunday, October 08, 2006

Our Saturday started early, B had a Hockey game at 8 so we were up at 6:30 so we could get everyone up dressed and fed and in hockey gear in time. I am not going to enjoy our early game time this year!!

We went to one of my favorite Fall places.

It is so beautiful at the Westham Island Herb Farm kind of outside Ladner.

For anyone whose been to our house that is the truck in the painting!!

The kids can explore and wander throughout and enjoy everything there is.

Baby I was totally happy with her little pumkin until she saw the old leaves at her feet, she decided she wanted them more and over-extended a little - yes, she headplanted onto the step under her!!

You can pick any flowers which is nice since we are usually telling kids not to pick the flowers!!

It is just such a happy beautiful place.
We were actually headed to the Bird sanctuary but in the we didn't have time, I guess we'll just have to go back.

We then headed out to my parents for Thanksgiving dinner which was soo good. Baby I was the explorer, so we had to keep an eye on her - she did a good job of finding everything she wasn't supposed to be playing with!! B had a lucky streak, he was unbeatable playing some games I played as a kid.

I don't think S could have a better brother in B. Right now B is letting S attack him, hold him down and scratching at his head!! He just comes up to him at times and does some goofy thing to make S laugh, the little thing are the best.

Thursday, October 05, 2006

At the park today was this woodpecker, he had gotten most of the tree and didn't seem to care how close we got to him. He must have had quite the headache!! It is amazing how long he kept at it and how strong he is.

Baby I tried out the teeter totter, maybe she is not quite ready for it but she enjoyed it. She had physio yesterday, she is so stubborn, but doing everything in her own time!

Stel and B just got back from soccer practise, sounds like it didn't go very well. He seems to really enjoy coaching but a few kids just don't listen and then it sky-rockets. I sure feel for Stel tonight.

AHH what a day, is it really only monday.
We have a little motoring baby I, oh the places she is getting into. I guess I sure got used to her staying in one spot. She hasn't mastered getting onto her belly yet but once she is, she uses her toes and pulls with her elbows in a commando style crawl - she is doing a great job cleaning my floors!!!
S and baby I had a pediatrician appointment, they are both doing well. Only thing he does't like is the look of baby I's foot splints, neither do we but I sure wan't hoping to get new ones yet. We have an appointment with the orthitist now, cha ching, here we go.
B is back to school and a bit disapointed that they are not doing harder work, but he is enjoying his friends at recess and lunch.
It feels like an out fo control time, maybe its just me with lots going on, maybe, who knows.
Our fighter in California has taken a turn for the not so good, so for all you prayerers out there keep Tyler in your thoughts for peace and and comfort and for Tamie to get through whatever she needs

We are back....

We are home, missing our friends and the beaches and of coarse Mickey but also glad to be home. Home is good.
The kids did great on the trip back - they are awsome travellers!

On our last day at the beach in Carlsbad as we were playing in the surf we saw a school of dolphins - that was soo cool and super glad it wasn't a school of sharks!!! what a nice way to end the trip.
Baby I did so much while we were away, maybe she needed a break from doctors and all. She is doing awsome, she is a bit behind in her gross motor development but right on in her cognitive - which is frustrating her when she wants something and can't get to it. While in california she learned to wave, to clap, to stand with support and yes oh my she pulled herself farward on our last day(it was about an inch but she is determined now if she uses her legs we will have to start childproofing)!!! She is so much fun.
B is back to school about 10 minutes after we got home!!! I am so disapointed about where he was placed and the grouping. I am at such a loss if i leave it alone or change schools or what - I just don't know right now, but sad I am.
S did so awsome on the trip and drive - it was for him - He is a star. In the picture is his best buddy and a reason for visiting. Those two boys have faught a fight harder than they should have ever had to but they keep fighting - they inspire me

S cried for more than a couple hours after leaving our hotel and disneyland for this trip. Poor guy, he was so sad and nothing we did made him happy - he LOVES disneyland!! We felt so bad for him, broke my heart, but he had spent soo much time there, I guess we will have to bring him back again!! And some people don't think he understands whats going on around him - oh how wrong they are
We headed out to Laguna Beach, it is so gorgeous there. The sand is so soft and fine - great for when Baby I takes handfulls and rubs it in her hair!! She'll be bringing some home with her for sure! B loves the beach and jumping in the waves. S decided he would try and have fun and also enjoyed getting the sand everywhere. We wandered through some art galleries and Stel loved that, also decided he wants to stay in california!!!
After the beach we headed back to our friends house to dinner that smelled sooo good and was :-) thank-you it was awsome.
We went to the beach
again and we all went in the huge waves and played around with a boogie board,
it was exhausting but soo fun. I think B was a born californian!!!
Its been really great spending time with our friends again, sure gonna be sad to go home but we are going to make the best of the rest of our days here!!
